What chance Relegation?
Was reading ESPN and they did a poll of there footballer writers for the season, of the 18 who gave there predictions, 3 had us down to be relegated...WTF!

TBH, given our new signings and the squad we already had and compared to the quality and depth of several other clubs, i was quite surprised by this, either they have an irrational hatred for us or they are no nothing cunts...............or is it a fair prediction?

I may be biased but top 10, all be it just sneaking in, is more rational surely?

They just do it for website hits, we've got so many idiot fans who'll look at the website and comment or whatever, I won't be looking at the link.

I know this is West Ham, but you'd have to be a stupid fucking cunt to have us down for relegation in front of some of the other shit in the league. Burnley might as well say goodbye now, Huddersfield as well, and I reckon Swansea will go.

It's not zero, but fuck all to worry about before a ball's kicked

Re: What chance Relegation?
Any club from 8th downwards last season could get relegated if they were really unlucky with injuries and refereeing decisions etc.

Re: What chance Relegation?
I always worry at this time of year that West Ham will misfire at the start of the season and it frequently happens, leading to a relegation scrap by February or March. A couple of seasons ago we had beaten several top teams by Christmas and were safe: I long for such a start again, in order to extend my life expectancy. With our pre-season failures this year, I shall keep taking the tablets.

Re: What chance Relegation?
With Antonio and Lanzini out for the first couple of games,I see a slow start.

Slow, as in not winning fuck all for a few games, which is a shame as we have a good squad if we could keep the fuckers fit.

Re: What chance Relegation?
Anything is possible with West Ham but as said there are plenty of other clubs with a lot more to worry about.

Huddersfield, Brighton & Newcastle need to do more ..:: Burnley appear to have sold their two best players (Keane & Gray) without bringing much in and Swansea seem resigned to losing Sigurdssen and maybe Llorente.

Always a possibility. Not huge, but there's always the west ham fuck it up possibility

Mike Oxsaw 9:50 Fri Aug 11
Re: What chance Relegation?
Without doubt, we are the games undisputed past-masters at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so, as has been pointed out, we can't actually dismiss the possibility until the last final whistle of the last game...and even then until the following season's fixture list is confirmed.

Not being all West Ham claret tinted specs and all that but any person that has us, at this point, down for relegation is an absolute utter fucking retard.

Re: What chance Relegation?
If we go out on the pitch with a billy big bollox we are the classier team attitude, like we did against Watford at home last year, then we will soon be down among the stragglers. The fact is any team can go down and it is up to the manager and players to maximise the team's abilities. We will come up against some teams, who we will be better than on a man for man basis, but they will be battling as underdogs and produce performances greater than the sum of their parts.

We will not go down but we need to be well up for the weekly battles from the off.

Re: What chance Relegation?
You only have to look at the players that Roeder had at his disposal when he got us relegated, to realise that anything's possible

I don't think we'll get relegated even though I expect a shaky start with all the away games, the early season injuries & the alarming lack of organisation & fitness shown in the pre-season games

Re: What chance Relegation?
every chance if we defend as badly next season.

Hernandez & Arnie make a big difference at the other end though. we actually have players who will commit defenders, or threaten to run in behind.
makes a big difference to how far up the pitch the oppo centre backs are willing to press.

Think Little Pea is being over hyped but that apart not relegation this year even after a bad start.

I would be worried for promoted 3 and the likes of Burnley,Swansea,West Brom & Stoke.

Re: What chance Relegation?
So long as we don't have double-figures in the injury room for most of the season, I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll finish 6th-8th this season.

OK. We're West Ham, so most likely either one place short of Europe, or Europe if it means a pre-season humiliation in an early qualifying round to some otherwise obscure club
